Awards ceremony for the annual thesis and final papers contest

On Tuesday, December 6, as part of the end-of-year event, the prizes for the XIV edition of the annual competitions for doctoral thesis, master’s thesis and final degree projects were announced, organized by the National Academy of Engineering.

The objective of this activity is to promote and support the development of quality projects, with innovative content and linked to the national reality.

“It corresponds to thank the authors of all the works, whether they are awarded or not, for their effort and for the high average quality of the works we received,” said Eng. Julio Fernández, president of ANIU.

Present at the event were Eng. Omar Paganini, Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining, and Eng. Ernesto Restaino, principal investigator of the Communication and Transfer Unit of the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INIA).

“I want to congratulate the Academy and congratulate, of course, all those who have applied and are nominated for these awards, because in some way they are the seed of what the country needs to continue progressing,” Paganini said. “I wish we could inspire more and more young people to take up this much-needed profession (…). I congratulate you and I entrust the future of Uruguay to you”, he added.
