The report was prepared by the Interacademic Group for Mathematics Education (GIEM), composed of representatives from the National Academies of Sciences, Economics, Engineering, and Medicine, based on an initiative linked to previous work on STEM education.

Its goal is to identify weaknesses in mathematics learning in Uruguay and develop concrete proposals to improve mathematics instruction, particularly given its impact on educational trajectories and the country’s development.
