Mathematics Education: Analysis and Proposals
The document, prepared by the National Academy of Engineering of Uruguay, complements the previous inter-academic report on mathematics education in the country. Based on a review of national and international sources, it analyzes the main challenges related to mathematics learning and provides guidelines to help improve it.
The report addresses issues such as initial and continuing teacher training, teaching practices, curriculum design, assessment, and the role of public policy. Its purpose is to provide a foundation for decision-making within the education system and to inform the interested public about a key issue affecting educational trajectories and the country’s scientific, technological, and productive development.
